Wolfpack Experience

Don’t take our word for it – here’s what our LegaCY families say:

Charles Young and the CY Select Wolves program works. Charles took our daughter from a second-teamer on a school club team and developed her into an AAU state champ, a starter on one of the top 5A girls teams in the state and now a player receiving offers to play college basketball. CY Select Wolves basketball is fast, aggressive and fun. It builds toughness and creates competitors. We also met great people along the way and spent a lot of awesome weekends together. We loved our time with the Wolves and would do it all again!

Our daughter just signed her NCAA letter of intent to play basketball at the University of South Dakota. Six years of training and games with the Wolves program helped prepare her for play at the D1 college level. The program’s focus on ball handling, footwork and understanding the game, combined with Charles’ hands on approach, benefits every player regardless of position. Thank you Charles for helping Grace achieve her dreams .

Charles Young and his program instilled basketball knowledge, basketball skills and demanded a strong work ethic which gave our daughter confidence. The consistent environment helped our daughter play at the Varsity level as a freshman, and throughout her high school career at a 5A school.

Being part of CY Select Wolves from 3rd – 8th grade was the best decision that we made for Maggie’s basketball and skill development in her pre-high school years. Charles’ focus on footwork, ball handling, spacing, defense and an aggressive read and react offensive approach were essential in Maggie’s skill development. Charles is hands down the best skill development coach for girls basketball in Iowa.

In my early years of AAU basketball, I found Charles and the CY Select Wolves to be my (friendly) enemies. Over time, even as a competitor, Charles had always been complimentary and gave me tips on how to get better. Over the years, I gained a lot of respect for Charles and decided to play with him for my last AAU season.  Charles and the rest of the coaching staff genuinely care about each girl and fundamentally want to make us better athletes. For Charles, coaching isn’t something to make himself look good, he’s 100% committed to his program. Playing with CY Select was a blast, and I wouldn’t change my last year with them for anything.
